Ganpati invitation messages for darshan, aarti and visarjan

Every year the same messages go round: Bappa is coming home, please come for darshan, a photo of the murti, and an address someone has to ask for twice. By the third day, nobody can find the aarti time.

This page is for families, housing societies and mandals inviting people to their Ganpati. It covers what the invitation needs, messages in Marathi, Hindi and English you can copy, how the wording changes for a home, a society and a sarvajanik mandal, and the dates for 2027.

What to put on a Ganpati invitation

  • The sthapana, with its date and the muhurat your priest gives you.
  • How many days Bappa stays. One and a half, five, seven or ten. Guests plan their visit around it.
  • Darshan hours, when the doors are open for visitors, especially on working days.
  • Every aarti, with its time. Morning and evening, and any special evening such as a satyanarayan puja or a bhajan night.
  • The mahaprasad, with the day and the time it starts.
  • The visarjan, with the day, the time the procession leaves and where it goes.
  • The address and a map. The building, the wing and the floor, and a map pin on the gate, not the middle of the society.
  • A reply, if you are cooking. If there is a mahaprasad, ask who is coming and how many, so you know how much to make.

Messages in Marathi

Marathi Ganpati messages follow a pattern that every family recognises: they open with the cry of Ganpati Bappa Morya, announce that Shri is arriving, ask guests to come for darshan with their whole family, and close with the hosts' names. These are the words you will see most often.

The words Marathi Ganpati invitations use

श्रींचे आगमनShrinche aagmanThe arrival of Shri, Ganpati, at the house

महाप्रसादMahaprasadThe shared meal of prasad
विसर्जनVisarjanThe immersion on the last day

A family signs with its own names, a society as its Ganeshotsav committee, and a mandal as the mandal. The full messages are in the samples below.

Messages in Hindi and English

Hindi messages open the same way, with Ganpati Bappa Morya, and invite guests 'darshan hetu sapariwar', for darshan with the family. They close with vineet or nivedak before the hosts' names. In North Indian homes the meal is often a bhandara rather than a mahaprasad, and the Hindi samples below allow for both.

English messages work best for colleagues and friends who have never been to a Ganpati at home. Keep them short and add one line on what to expect: that they can come any evening, that the aarti is at a fixed time, and that they do not need to bring anything.

How long Bappa stays changes the invitation too. A dedh din Ganpati needs one clear day and time. A five-day Gauri Ganpati adds the Gauri days: the aavahan, the pujan and the visarjan. A ten-day utsav ends on Anant Chaturdashi and needs the daily aarti times and the visarjan route.

When to send it, and Ganesh Chaturthi 2027

Send the invitation about a week before the sthapana, then a short reminder the evening before each big day: the sthapana, the mahaprasad and the visarjan.

In 2027, Ganesh Chaturthi falls on Saturday, 4 September, and Anant Chaturdashi, the tenth day's visarjan, on Tuesday, 14 September, by Drik Panchang for New Delhi. The Chaturthi tithi begins on the afternoon of Friday 3 September, so check the panchang for your own city and ask your priest for the muhurat before you print a time.

Questions people ask

How do I invite people for Ganpati darshan?

Send a message with the sthapana date, how many days Bappa stays, the darshan hours, each aarti's time, the mahaprasad if there is one, and the visarjan, with the address and a map. Send it about a week before the sthapana.

What should I write in a Ganpati invitation in Marathi?

Open with गणपती बाप्पा मोरया, say that Shri is arriving (श्रींचे आगमन), ask guests to come for darshan with their whole family (सहकुटुंब सहपरिवार अवश्य यावे), list the sthapana, aarti and visarjan times, and close with आपले नम्र and your family's name.

When should we send the Ganpati invitation?

About a week before the sthapana, with a short reminder the evening before each big day. In 2027 Ganesh Chaturthi falls on Saturday 4 September by Drik Panchang for New Delhi; check the panchang for your city.

Can we get a digital Ganpati invitation with RSVP?

Yes. Invifest's Darshan is a Ganpati invitation link with the whole utsav in order, RSVP with a headcount and the address with a map. It costs ₹379, is bought outright with no slot to book, and reaches you on WhatsApp within 24 hours.

Can the invitation include the aarti?

Yes. Darshan lists every aarti with its time and plays your family's aarti softly while guests read the invitation.

How is a mandal's invitation different from a family's?

A sarvajanik mandal invites every devotee and signs as the mandal. It lists the aagman, the sthapana, the daily aarti, special events and the visarjan route. A family invites relatives and friends by name and keeps it personal.
