We are a paid design studio, Invifest, and say plainly at the end where we fit and where free is enough. Everything else here comes from each maker's own pages, read on 27 October 2026. "Not stated" means we looked and the page does not say. Free plans change often, so check before you start.
Two kinds of free invitation
- A card: an image or PDF you fill in, download and forward on WhatsApp. It opens instantly on any phone and costs nothing on many sites. It cannot collect replies, and once sent it cannot be corrected.
- A link: an invitation website that opens in the phone's browser, with each function, a map and a reply form, and it can be updated after you send it. Free links exist, but this is where the limits sit: watermarks, guest caps, replies without names, and links with an end date.

A card is a file, so it has no reply form and nothing to expire; those two questions belong to the links below. For a card, what matters is how it reads: check every name and date against your own list, and have the Hindi read aloud by someone who reads it well. Five of the seven publish no link life at all, which is worth a question before you send three hundred people a link. How long each service keeps its links goes into it.
On Hindi: Shubh Invitation offers it beside Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali and more, PixerInvite lists 11 languages without naming them, and on a Canva site you type the Hindi in and check it yourself. The other four do not say.
The catches, and where each one is written
- Free to design, paid to publish. Mangalya says design and preview are free and you pay when you publish, from ₹799, with RSVP as a ₹399 add-on. PixerInvite is free to design and preview, then ₹999, ₹1,499 or ₹1,999 to send.
- A link with an end date. Invity's free Super plan is live for 7 days. Grand (Rs 999) lasts 60 days and Royal (Rs 2,400) 180, after which the invitation is archived until you renew.
- Two functions, and replies you can count but not name. Wedence's Free plan covers "your first 2 functions", and its RSVP is "counts only": totals, not names. Every function, named replies for each one and an Excel export come with Pro, ₹3,999 one-time against ₹5,999 in its festive offer.
- A maker's mark on your invitation. Shubh Invitation's free invitations carry a small "Made with Shubh"; Invity's free plan shows its watermark; a free Canva website carries a "Designed with Canva" footer that, by Canva's help page, cannot be removed without Pro; EasyInvite's free downloads carry a small watermark.
- Limits by the day or the plan. Crafty Art's free plan exports one template a day. Canva Free allows up to five live websites on its free domain (its help page, canva.com/help/publishing-websites-for-free). Shubh Invitation prices each invitation by guest count: Basic covers up to 100 guests or families, Celebration 500 (₹200 over the design) and Grand any number (₹400 over).
- Paid downloads. WedMeGood gives a free share link for a card you customise, but downloading it as a PDF costs INR 249. Desievite's premium cards cost Rs 49 to Rs 199 once you like the watermarked preview.
- Your account holds the invitation. Shubh Invitation's terms say that deleting your account deletes its invitations, guest lists and replies, and their links stop working.
- Per-guest pricing, for families abroad. Paperless Post sends the first 50 invitations free by email or phone number, then charges per guest in US dollars.

For a one-function wedding, a small guest list, or a cousin who enjoys designing, free is often enough, and paying a designer would be paying for evenings you were happy to spend. Send it six to eight weeks before the wedding with a personal line, and call the elders (our timeline).
When a designer is worth it (Invifest, ours)
- Several functions and venues, each with its own time, map pin and dress code, kept correct when one changes.
- Replies with names for each function, because the caterer needs a sangeet count and a wedding count.
- Some guests invited to some functions, without anyone seeing what they were left out of (how families handle it).
- Hindi or a regional script set properly, with the honorifics in the right places.
- Elders on the list, who need large, plain type and a short scroll.
- A link that does not expire, so the invitation stays a keepsake after the wedding.
- No evenings to spare in the months before a wedding.

Can I make a wedding invitation online for free in India?
Yes. Riwaaz, InviteMaker, ShadiCardMaker and InvitationBazaar let you download a wedding card free without an account, and Canva, Adobe Express and Crafty Art have free plans. For a link with replies, Shubh Invitation, Invity, Wedence and GetMyInvite start free.
Which free invitation maker has no watermark?
On 27 October 2026, Riwaaz said its free cards carry no watermark and InvitationBazaar said the same of its free templates; InviteMaker and ShadiCardMaker mention none. Shubh Invitation, Invity and EasyInvite put a mark on free invitations, and a free Canva website carries a Canva footer.
Is there a free wedding website with RSVP in India?
Yes. Shubh Invitation's free designs take replies for every function, with a small mark. Invity's free plan has RSVP with headcount for 7 days, Wedence Free counts replies for your first 2 functions without names, and GetMyInvite has a free reply form with a CSV export.
Do free wedding invitation links expire?
Some do. Invity's free plan lasts 7 days and PixerInvite erases a paid invitation 13 months after its last event. Most free makers do not publish how long a link stays online, so ask before you send it.
Can I make a free wedding card in Hindi?
Yes. InviteMaker has Hindi templates and lets you type in Devanagari, ShadiCardMaker supports 9 languages including Hindi, and Desievite, EasyInvite and Adobe Express have Hindi too. Have someone who reads Hindi well check every line before you send it.
Do I need to sign up to make a free invitation?
Not always. Riwaaz, InviteMaker, ShadiCardMaker and InvitationBazaar need no account to download a card. Canva, Adobe Express and WedMeGood need one, and Shubh Invitation asks for a phone number or Google account.
Is Invifest free?
No. Invifest's wedding designs cost ₹2,499 to ₹7,000, paid once, made for you by a designer, with two rounds of changes and a link that has no expiry date. The RSVP console is free with every invite.
