WedMeGood and WeddingWire India e-invites: what you get free, what it costs, and when a website is worth it
What WedMeGood's e-invite maker and WeddingWire India's free wedding website give you, their prices and limits, and when an invitation website does more.

WedMeGood makes cards and videos: customise a card and share it free as a link, pay INR 249 for the PDF, or order a video its team makes in 72 working hours, from INR 749, with no refunds. WeddingWire India gives you a free wedding website with one RSVP and lists card makers rather than making invitations. Either suits a simple wedding. For several functions with a reply for each, an invitation website does more.
On this page
WedMeGood and WeddingWire India are wedding planning sites, with directories of venues and vendors, and both offer invitation tools of their own. They are often the first tools a family tries. Here is what each one actually gives you, from their own pages on 27 October 2026, and where a full invitation website does more.
We make Invifest, invitation websites made by our designers, so weigh our view with that in mind. Both marketplaces' tools are a sensible choice for the right wedding, and we say which.
What WedMeGood's e-invites are
WedMeGood's invitation section had 111 wedding cards, 239 video cards and 111 save the date cards on 27 October 2026. They come in two kinds.
- Cards you make yourself, shared free as a link. You customise a static card, and WedMeGood creates what its FAQ calls "a wedding website link" that you can share for free. Downloading the card as a PDF costs INR 249 on its card designs page; some of its other pages say INR 299. The PDF is a still card, not animated.
- Videos its team makes. You choose a template and pay, and its design team customises the video and emails it within 72 working hours. Its video templates page says templates start at INR 749; the listing showed sale prices from ₹500, and ₹6,999 for a customised caricature or a 3D invite.
- Changes cost extra. The first edit of a video is free; each further edit costs Rs. 499, and music, background colour, fonts and designs cannot be changed. Adding a slide costs INR 499, and a new slide made from scratch INR 1,500.
- No refunds. Its pages describe "a strict no cancellation and no refund policy", with a refund only for a technical glitch on its side.
RSVP appears on its invitation pages only as a detail printed on the card, like the hosts' names and phone numbers. We found no reply form and no guest dashboard there, and WedMeGood has no wedding website builder of its own: the free link to your card is what it calls the website.
What WeddingWire India offers
WeddingWire India does not make invitation cards itself. Its "Wedding Invitations and Cards" section is a directory of card makers, 1,093 of them on 27 October 2026, filtered by paper and price per card. What it builds itself is a free wedding website, described on its "Your free wedding website" page and in its help centre:
- Free, from templates. You pick a free template and add your details. Its FAQ lists five pages: a homepage, a wedding blog, confirm attendance, contact us and a guestbook.
- One RSVP. Guests find their own name to confirm attendance, and your guest list updates. Its help centre says the standard RSVP button "is not fully editable", with workarounds for meal preferences or song requests. We found no reply for each function described.
- Privacy. A password, or a welcome form that asks visitors for their name and email before they see the site.
- Language. The site is set to the language of the country where you registered; for a bilingual site you type both languages yourself.
- WhatsApp. Its own help centre notes that on some Android phones a custom-domain link shared on WhatsApp shows a security warning, and suggests other apps, a QR code, or a PDF with the link inside.
- After the wedding. The website cannot be deleted separately from your profile; you can hide it. Paid Premium Packs exist, with 14 days to withdraw after activation, but we did not find their prices on the pages we read.

When a free card is the right answer
For a small function at one venue, a roka at home, a puja or a lunch after a court marriage, a free WedMeGood card shared as a link does the job. Everyone needs the same date, time and place, nobody needs to reply online, and the elders will call anyway. A WeddingWire India website suits a one-day wedding where one "we are coming" from each guest is enough.
Spend money when the invitation has more work to do, not because a free option feels too plain. Our list of free invitation makers covers the other free options and their catches.
What a card or a video cannot do
The questions families bring to us show where a file runs out:
- A change after sending. A time moves, a venue is confirmed, a spelling is corrected. A card or a video has to be made again and sent again, and the old one keeps going round the family groups. A website changes once, for everyone who has the link.
- A reply for each function. The caterer needs separate numbers for the sangeet and the reception. A card can only print a phone number to call.
- A map for each venue. A card prints the address; a website opens the map at the right gate with one tap.
- Different functions for different guests. A card is the same for everyone who receives it, so reception-only guests need an invitation of their own. Our guide to inviting guests to only some functions covers how.
- A second pair of eyes. One groom told us his earlier video invite, from another maker, had the wrong weekday and was missing family names. Whatever you choose, have two people check every name, date and weekday before it goes out.
Our guides to a video or a website and to a multi-event wedding website go further.
"Why pay when a free PDF exists?"
It is a fair question, and families ask it. A groom told us he had planned to send a free PDF made with ChatGPT, until he saw a friend's invitation. The honest answer is to pay when the invitation has work to do. If it only needs to announce a date, a free card is enough. If it has to carry five functions, collect a reply for each, show the right functions to the right guests and survive a changed time, a website does work that a card cannot.
Our cost guide shows what each kind of invitation costs, and Canva or a designer weighs making it yourself against having it made. If you want it made, an invitation website from Invifest arrives within 3 days of your complete details, with two rounds of changes included.

Questions people ask
Is WedMeGood's e-invite free?
Customising a static card and sharing it as a link is free. Downloading the card as a PDF costs INR 249 on its card designs page (INR 299 on some of its other pages), and its video invitations start at INR 749 in its FAQ, with sale prices from ₹500, checked on 27 October 2026.
How long does a WedMeGood video invitation take?
Its design team customises the video and emails it within 72 working hours of payment. The first edit is free, each further edit costs Rs. 499, and music, colours, fonts and designs cannot be changed.
Can I get a refund from WedMeGood?
Its pages say no: "a strict no cancellation and no refund policy", with a refund only for a technical glitch on its side.
Does WeddingWire India make wedding invitations?
Not itself. Its invitations section is a directory of card makers. What it builds is a free wedding website with an RSVP page that updates your guest list.
Can guests RSVP on a WedMeGood e-invite?
Not on the card itself: RSVP appears only as printed text, such as the hosts' phone numbers. For replies, use a website with a reply form, or collect them by phone.
Is WeddingWire India's free website good for a wedding with many functions?
It works for a simple wedding. You can describe each function in your pages, but its help centre describes one RSVP button that is not fully editable rather than a reply for each function, and privacy is a password for the whole site rather than different functions for different guests.
Should we send a WedMeGood video or an invitation website?
A video plays inside WhatsApp and suits relatives who would rather watch. A website carries every function with maps and replies and can change after sending. Some families send both: the video to announce, the link to reply.
